Current treatments for the painful and debilitating effects of arthritis or joint pain rely on early intervention with synthetic drugs and, in severe cases, surgery. The pharmaceutical approach to these conditions is still not effective for some 20% to 40% of those with arthritis or other degenerative joint diseases. According to the National Institute of Health, Regenerative Medicine can provide a promising alternative to surgery by promoting safe and natural healing. This less invasive approach attracts thousands each year. Regenerative medicine is now available at Whole Family Integrated Wellness, one of the few clinics in the country to offer regenerative cellular therapy.
Emerging Therapy Combining Nanoparticle-Based Therapeutics:
Stem cells are found in all of us and play a vital role in the body’s healing process. They lie latent in your body until they receive signals that the body has suffered an injury, and then they follow your cell signaling to the injured site. Your stem cells can transform into the same type of cell that was injured to promote healing. They are tasked to heal injured ligaments, tendons, tissues, and bones. After an injury, or as a natural result of aging, environmental toxins, or medications, the activity of your stem cells may diminish. Regenerative medicine utilizing cellular therapy solves this problem by delivering a high concentration of growth factors into the injured area, promoting natural healing, and nanoparticle-based therapies can help your body restore stem cell signaling.
The procedure is simple and takes just 45 minutes. Regenerative medicine therapy can be performed right in the Whole Family Chiropractic office. It can provide pain relief without the risks of surgery, general anesthesia, hospital stays, or prolonged recovery. There is a short recovery time after this therapy. The injections have been used thousands of times all across the world.
How it Works
Regenerative cellular therapy takes advantage of the body’s ability to repair itself. Your Whole Family Center provider will inject an appropriate regenerative medicine product into your body. Similar to cortisone and steroid shots, these injections have anti-inflammatory properties but offer far more benefits than those of standard injection therapies. While cortisone and other drugs only provide temporary pain relief, our treatment delivers nanoparticles and growth factors to help degenerated tissue and may provide pain relief. The growth factors may activate your body’s stem cells, causing healing. Additionally, these injections contain hyaluronic acid, which lubricates joints and tendons, easing the pain and helping restore mobility.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I’m a candidate?
If you have areas of inflammation and pain, soft-tissue defects, tendon and ligament injuries, cartilage injuries, muscle injuries, fascial injuries, injured nerves, tendinosis, osteoarthritis, or joint tendinitis, you’re a candidate for cellular therapy.
What is the process like?
We start with an evaluation and x-rays. This process takes about an hour. Based on the assessment, we’ll schedule a time for the injection. It is typically one injection done by our Nurse Practitioner. The procedure takes about 20 minutes, and that’s it! No waiting, surgery, or invasive procedures.
Are there limitations or specific instructions following the procedure?
There are some limitations in physical activity in the two weeks following and working your way back up in activity level between weeks 3 and 8. If you are ordinarily inactive, some movement is encouraged. This would be walking and periods of standing and sitting. If you are an extremely active person, it is advised to decrease activity for a few weeks following the procedure.
Will I need physical therapy afterward?
This is very case-specific, and we can advise on this more for each patient.
Will I need x-rays or an MRI?
You will need x-rays. If you have had x-rays or an MRI done within the last year, we will view those.
How quickly can I get in?
We can get you scheduled right away for the evaluation and x-rays.
What is your success rate?
Each case is different; therefore, everyone’s results are different. We have seen great success with the procedures we have done.
What is the long term outlook?
The long term outlook is case-specific and is dependent on the joint we are treating as well as how extensive the damage to the tissue is.
Does it hurt?
The procedure is different for everyone. We don’t see our patients experiencing much discomfort with the injection.
How quickly will I see relief?
The timeline for relief varies. Some patients experience relief immediately following the injection, while others may experience a decrease in discomfort over the next 2-4 weeks.
What should I wear?
Wear clothes that fit loosely over the injection site.
What if it doesn’t work?
We review this on a case by case basis.
How long does it last?
It is one injection for the rest of your life. On rare occasions, a patient may need a “booster” injection later in life.
Does insurance cover it?
Unfortunately, at this time, there is no insurance coverage for this service.
Do you offer payment plans?
