Part of a healthy lifestyle includes creating healthy nutritional choices. Many people have been in the SAD (Standard American Diet) for so long they don't know how to get out. Below is a testimonial by one patient who, with the guidance of Dr. Jessica, achieved the beginning of her freedom:

Empty nest brought many psychological challenges five years ago and my 46 year old body went through menopause. Weight gain, inflammatory health conditions and depression made war against my very being. Getting out of bed became a major feat. Work grew more demanding and I allowed it to consume healthy boundaries. As the spiral swirled I was losing myself. A dream come true trip to Hawaii a year ago was a delightful respite but the photos told the sad story: I had become a version of myself that did not resemble my true self. Repeated efforts at diets and exercise failed so many times that I felt trapped and doomed.

Long story short, Providence crossed my path with an amazing Chiropractor whose whole body, mind, soul approach included a detox program using Metagenics products which included a period of time that was Vegan. Amazingly every inch of me responded and I felt like I had a new lease on life. As I realized I loved the Vegan lifestyle, I chose to continue it beyond the detox days. As my body began to thrive and I no longer felt helpless, I began to set goals that were attainable. The first was to lose 10% of the weight that held me prisoner and I just celebrated that achievement this week. Eating has become a way to take excellent care of me and is fun, interesting and envigorating. The next goal is to wear a dress I have not been able to fit into for 8 years by Jan. 29 and the next goal after that is to feel like a stunning Mother of the Bride for my daughter's wedding this summer. Deeper than those fun goals is the goal of lifetime health and freedom from family diseases that plague all my close relatives. Parkinson's Disease, Lupus, Rheumetoid Arthritis and Diabetes frequent my family. I want to live many more years and be vibrant! I accepted the call to seminary school a year ago and besides Mother of the Bride I plan to be a Chaplain or Women's Life Coach someday. There is so much to do and be ! Being Vegan has opened up a world of possibility as my body is fueled with clean and alkaline eating! I could not be more excited or grateful for this change in 2010.

In addition to a Vegan lifestyle, I was blessed to have Dr. Jessica Allen treat me with Chiropractic care for a lower back L4 and L5 issue that was causing me to limp significantly.  In just 2.5 months there is major relief and improvement. With her encouragement and support I found myself using a treadmill at home 3-4 times a week, taking more frequent long walks with girl friends, and most recently began a Pilate's Boot Camp.  The wisdom of Dr. Jessica suggesting Pilates is a wonderful and complimentary approach to being Vegan! I love Pilates! The synergy of being Vegan and doing Pilates is blessing me daily. I laugh, feel more positive, and have hope for well being that I did not have 3 months ago.

Thank you ! Dr. Jessica Allen for sharing your professional gifts and unique encouragement with my life and future. I am forever grateful.
